BORÉALDESIGN keeps innovating!
|
In the past two years, we have been testing with success a Spectra® rope to control the rudder. This rope, which is very resistant to breakage, has many advantages over stainless steel cables; it is light and quiet. Corrosion hazards decrease, as well as fees associated with, and the time spent on, kayak maintenance.

Our new Thigh Brace system for polyethylene kayaks
|
We have developed and introduced in 2007 a new thigh brace system for our polyethylene kayaks, that offers remarkable comfort and adjustment. This new system is a two-stage design, which allows the paddler to achieve a degree of fit and comfort not previously available on BORÉALDESIGN kayaks. Stage 1 consists of the thigh brace itself. It has the advantage to be rigid and to provide excellent support to the thigh. Stage 2 is formed by a small dome. It is adjustable in height according to the paddler size; it pivots on itself and also slides in Stage 1.

Reflective lifeline
|
Many of our kayaks have a lifeline installed on their perimeter. This year, we will use a rope with a reflective strand that will improve craft visibility.

“Clear Coat” hulls: more and more popular
|
Did you know that a kayak with a clear coat hull weighs up to 2 lb (1 kg) less? Available only with the Kevlar® or Kevlar®/carbon versions, this option consists of
a clear gel coat layer that reduces overall weight. In addition, you can admire
the beautiful Kevlar® and carbon fibre fabrics. |

Our Revolutionary Skeg System
|
| The mechanism of our skeg system is simple, efficient and easy to use. A control knob adjusts the depth of the anodized aluminium blade. It features six adjustments (0 to 5) corresponding to angles of 0 to 50 degrees. The skeg box is specifically designed to reduce the level of intrusion into the rear compartment and therefore, minimizing any loss of storage capacity. To know more... |
