Developing new products and improving existing ones are ongoing priorities at BORÉALDESIGN. Our skilled engineers, technicians and their colleagues from Customer Service, allow us to continually display a level of ingenuity, which consistently impresses our customers. The BORÉALDESIGN team members test the products they develop on short excursions and long trips. This is how we develop products for specific consumer needs. Thoroughness and ingenuity are the watchwords of research and development at BORÉALDESIGN.
Environmental Safety
BORÉALDESIGN attaches great importance to environmental safety. This is clearly evident throughout the manufacturing process of our kayaks. For example, our composite kayaks are manufactured with a low styrene fume emission method; the polyethylene used to make our plastic kayaks is entirely recyclable; cut-out waste material from kayaks and accessories is recycled; and warm air given off by the rotomoulding oven is recovered to heat part of the factory. These measures are designed to preserve the environment on the long term and to ensure a better quality of life now and in the future.

High
performance Design
BORÉALDESIGN pays close attention to the design of its kayaks. Our engineers and technicians use the best computer-assisted design software. Hydrostatic data, hydrodynamics, ergonomics, comfort, lightness, quality and safety are crucial characteristics considered in the creation of kayak models.
Changes in design are contingent upon the kayak’s behaviour in water. Stability calculations, angles, limits of lean and the interaction between hull and water are based on the category of paddler targeted and the class of kayak. Moreover, tests on hull trim are conducted to properly position the centre of gravity corresponding to the location of the paddler, or paddlers in a craft.
